In the designing process for my website, I made sure to adhere to certain design principals that make a website easier to navigate and more professional. Specifically, I ensured that my pages were somewhat symmetrical while still breaking the text up into blocks to increase readability. I also implemented the use of colors that fit well together and create a comfortable vibe. Overall, I enjoyed the creativity that the assignment evokes, and I am thankful for the opportunity to gain experience in creating websites.

QR codes are something that I have be exposed to for many years in education and public life. I believe they are a very useful tool that can be applied in the classroom. In my own future classrooms, I imagine myself using them in a few ways. One way could simply be a bathroom sign-out page that each student scans before leaving. My high school used this system, and I saw it to be very successful. Additionally, I would provide QR codes on the board anytime that we are working with a website or an online document. Having the students type out a link or search for the website could cause unnecessary delay. That being said, even with technology spreading and advancing, there still may be students that do not have the ability or knowledge to scan a QR code. For that reason, I will still provide the link on screen.

    Implementation:

  1. Curriculum Development:

    • Use AI to generate lesson plans and assessments tailored to specific historical themes or periods.
    • AI can help create diverse perspectives on historical events, providing students with a more nuanced understanding.
  2. Research Assistance:

    • Students can use AI to generate summaries of historical texts or articles, helping them grasp key concepts quickly.
    • Encourage students to explore different interpretations of events through AI-generated content.
  3. Creative Projects:

    • Assign projects where students use AI to create presentations, videos, or interactive timelines, blending technology with historical inquiry.
    • Encourage students to use AI to write fictional diaries or letters from the perspective of historical figures.
  4. Interactive Learning:

    • Implement AI chatbots in the classroom for students to ask questions about historical events, facilitating self-directed learning.
    • Use AI-generated quizzes for immediate feedback on student understanding
Above is a response from chat GPT that explains how Ai can be implemented into my high school history class. It also provided a few ethical dilemmas that come along with this method of teaching. The ethical problems included biased information and historically inaccurate information. I would address this by continuing in my use of AI to help generate lessons. However, I would take a few extra steps after receiving answers from chat GPT including fact checking against scholarly sources.

  1. Hi Luke! I really like your website. I think it all looks very cohesive and professional. I really like how at the top of each page there is an emblem of the Leon County Schools logo. I think changing the about me tab header to match the others would make it more cohesive. I found your website veery easy to navigate and informative!

  2. Hi Luke I like the website you made. It looks very tidy and easy to navigate. It is cool how you have chosen to place yourself in Leon county. I did not think of where to put myself in my website.
